About The Trip
Komodo fishing tours offer a world-class fishing experience in the exotic waters of Komodo National Park, combining the thrill of catching predatory fish like Giant Trevally (GT) with stunning views of the island’s landscape. Using a speedboat from Labuan Bajo, this tour targets the best spots.

We organize fishing tour for private charter, and You can choose from one-day trip for a quick thrill to multi-day
Fishing Type
Technique of fishing is mainly lures fishing or popping, and combined with jigging type fishing
Main Target Fish
Species that targeted to catch are Giant Trevally (GT), Bluefin Trevally, Grouper, Red Snapper, Dogtooth Tuna, Amberjack, Wahoo, etc.
Catch and Release
We enforce a strict catch-and-release policy for the fishes captured with supervised by Komodo National Park officials. Which mean taking only photos and data records back home
Good time to Fish
Best season to be fishing from September to May is often considered the optimal time for fishing in this area.
Fishing Gear and Lures
Popping fishing type, normally use PE line #6-#8. For lures, popper and stickbait both are work, and weight 80g to 150g. Jigging fishing type, 100g to 300g of jig weight, depth from 150m to 300m
Tour Duration
The fishing trip lasts 9-10 hours at sea. Pickup from the hotel is at 6 a.m. and drop-off is at 5 p.m.
Seaport
Fishing tours depart from boat harbor of Labuan Bajo. It is located not so far from your accommodation.
Fishing Itinerary
- 6 am, pick up time from the hotel. Head for boat harbor of Labuan Bajo. Go to fishing spots for popping, jigging. Lunch on board.
- 4 pm, stop fishing, head back to Labuan Bajo harbor
- 5 pm, arrive at Labuan Bajo harbor, drop off at hotel
What You Need To Know
- Komodo National Park has implemented regulations for tourism within the park area, including a fishing permit fee of IDR 5 million per person, it is one time pay only for all days of fishing trip.
- Enforcement of tourist visit regulations regarding restrictions or carrying capacity within the park area.
